Emily loves to watch Bud eat

I always try to coordinate feeding Bud his supper when I feed Emily her supper. That way Bud can eat in peace and Emily can just watch him from her high chair. But there are days where Bud follows me around the house barking at me because he is ready to eat right then! So Emily is never far from his bowl and tries to grab food from it any chance she can get. She grabbed his bowl the second he was done:

Visitor eating his supper

We had a rabbit come eat his supper last night in our backyard. He lives in the bushes at the back of our property but I've never seen him this close before. We stood at the back door and watched him and he didn't run off. He ate the bird seed I had thrown on the ground the day before.Speaking of rabbits, Emily had her pictures taken the other day and they had their rabbit left over from all the Easter pictures so some of her 1 year portraits (I didn't get around to getting them until she was 14 months old) will be with a floppy eared rabbit. She did well with him.

What has Emily been doing?

Emily has discovered the fun of standing up on the bed or couch and falling backwards onto the pillows or cushions. She tried it for the first time one evening when she was sitting on the couch in between Joe and me. She kept falling back on Joe's lap and thinking it was funny. Now anytime she is on a bed or couch she tries to fall backwards:

She has also been wanting her pacifier a lot now when she is awake. She's been going all week to her bed and getting them out. She now has to put one in her mouth and hold one in each hand:

The last time she was like this she cut the bottom two 1 year molars so I wonder if the top ones are getting ready to come in.

On a side note . . . . I have to be a 1950s housewife for a minute and talk about my new washer and dryer. I love them!!!! Our towels and clothes are so much softer and fresher now and the dryer gets done around the same time the washer does instead of me spending alot of extra time waiting for the dryer to get finished. I also have a signal now to tell me when the load is done. The new washer uses such a small amount of water. It's so fun to watch it wash our clothes!!! It's pretty funny that I'm so excited about washing clothes now : ) I know that won't last for very long!!

I also have to give a shout out to Chick-Fil-A. I've never really had concern for what restaurants do for families with small children until now of course. But the other day Emily and I met Joe at the Chick-Fil-A on Hwy 92. They had a small display when you walked in with a basket of the table top covers that you could put down for toddlers to eat on. They also had small individual cups of cheerios for little ones to snack on. How nice is that! We will definitely be eating there again.

Emily and Sarah

I got Emily's spring clothes out of the attic last week and this outfit was in there. Michelle has given me so many clothes that were Sarah's and I'm so thankful for them! I gave this outfit to Sarah when she turned 1. So here is Emily wearing it in 2008 and Sarah wearing it in 2003.

Today is Sarah's 6th Birthday. Happy Birthday Sarah!!!

These are her favorite books. They are pop up books and she has so much fun with them. I got 4 of them at a consignment sale for $2.00 . . . it was a great buy : )
She started saying ball, Bud, and bow this week. I guess she likes her B words!!!

Bye Bye Old Faithfuls

Well after using this washer and dryer for 13 years it's time to say goodbye. This is now the second item that we bought when we first got married that we are letting go . . . first our couch and now our Kenmore!! I washed our last load of clothes in these last night:

After two weeks of talking to my friend Michelle, researching on line, and visiting several stores to check prices we are now the proud owners of a Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer and Dryer. They just delivered them this morning. I'm so excited!!! Now I have to go read the books on how to use them : )

Emily's Activities

I had to show these pictures below. The first one is of Emily hanging out by her toys. She had her feet crossed right before I took the picture. I just thought it was so cute:
This one is of Bud and Emily waiting for Joe to share some of his cheese that he was eating:

I also have another video to share. The first part of the video below is of Emily's progress in her walking this week. The second part of the video is Emily saying ball. Today was the first time I heard her say it so of course I grabbed the camera : ) You might think that the only thing Emily wears are pajamas but I just happened to be filming at night and early in the morning.

Turn up the volume so you can hear her say ball.

Emily's favorite things to do

Here are a few pictures of Emily's favorite things to do during the day. Here she is playing with the pictures of her cousins. She loves to take the picture of Chaz and Sidney all over the house.
Here she is playing in her closet in her room. She usually goes thru the toys and bags that I have in there. I trade out the toys in the living room every few weeks so she doesn't get bored with them but she always finds them in her closet.

Here she is playing with the legos and books on her bookshelf.

And here's a video of what she does when she realizes I have the camera out:
