Outfit
I have been working on an outfit for Abigail and I'm so excited that I was able to make this by myself. I read the directions and made it . . . I even put in a zipper! The only thing I struggled with was the snap tape. I would have put it in differently but I was trying to follow the pattern directions . . . anyway here is a bubble suit for Abigail. This is the first pattern I've ever done where I didn't ask anyone any questions and understood what it was telling me to do! Yea! Emily picked the fabric out so I'm going to make her some shorts to match:

Popsicles
Emily has discovered popsicles from the kids in the neighborhood. So we enjoyed some yesterday:
Abigail enjoyed hanging out with us:
. . . and observing:

She has also discovered that her toes taste just as good as her thumb : )

I've fed her carrots a couple of days in a row. She's still trying to decide what she thinks about all of it:

Bottle
You see this baby right here:
She has also starting flipping over on her tummy when she is in her bed. She napped that way today but tonight she got turned over and then got mad and started crying. I had to go get her all situated again to go to sleep : )
This weekend we took it easy. Joe worked and it rained all day Saturday so we hung out in Abigail's room where all the "good toys" are : )
Today we had a nice surprise when two families that used to go to our church were back for a visit. So after services today we enjoyed visiting with them while all our kids played on the play ground.

Week's Activities
This week was spent playing and hanging out. It was nice to relax a little after our yard sale last weekend. We made $140 . . . not bad for our first yard sale ever! My parents came to help us out and I'm so glad they did! It made it so much easier with making sure someone was outside for the yard sale and someone was watching both kiddos. Emily LOVED being outside the whole time and made sure people knew what things she was selling also. We took her to the Dollar store afterwards to get a small reward for helping sell some of her things. She picked out a jump rope and more necklaces.
Last Friday I was working on getting stuff ready for the yard sale and Emily asked me to come to her room to sing some songs to her because she was getting ready to take a nap. When I went in her room this is how I found her:
This has been her play of choice this week. She laid pillows all over the living room and put an animal on each one and covered them with blankets and told me they were taking naps. Right now she is downstairs reading some books and laying on the couch with some covers. She told me she had some reading she had to do before taking her nap. Wish the girl would take a real nap : ) She also got some play fabric I got her and cut some squares out to place on several of her babies so they could take naps.
The other day I was upstairs and she kept hollering from downstairs to tell me that she was a baby. So I went downstairs to investigate and this is how I found her:
Crazy nut! She also discovered all of the toys I pulled out of the attic to get ready for Abigail and has been playing with those toys all week. I told her she was welcome to play with them but had to keep them in Abigail's room. Otherwise the poor girl isn't going to have anything in her room to call her own . . . and Emily's room is starting to get overrun with stuff everywhere : )
On Wednesday, Joe took a day off (they have started working every other Saturday so he is going to take a day off during the week from time to time . . . thankfully!) so we enjoyed some time at the park:
Abigail enjoyed the swings for the first time:

For some reason Emily has stopped going down slides. I don't know why. Joe tried to talk her into going down some but she wouldn't go down them unless he went with her:
She does down our slide at home all the time but won't go down any of them at parks. . . . even the little ones . . . don't know why . . .
Then we went to Emily's swimming lesson. Joe had to stay outside the whole time because the second Emily saw him she started crying for him across the pool area. Once he left she did fine and even floated on her back with the teacher only having 1 finger under her head!!!
Abigail had her 6 month appt on Friday. She weighs 16 pounds 3 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long! She continues to be in the 70-75% for height and weight. The doctor put her on an acid reflux medicine because I told him that she coughs every night. I never would have thought that was due to acid reflux. He said give it a week and see if the coughing stops. If it does then her problem is acid reflux and I should give her the medicine for a couple of months.
She hasn't seemed very interested in her cereal this week so he told me we could start on veggies this week since they have a little more flavor. So we'll see how that goes! Abigail has a head cold right now so she hasn't felt too great . . . so I might wait a couple of days before trying new foods.

Cereal
We fed Abigail cereal for the first time today! And so begins her journey towards eating solid food : ) I skipped rice cereal and went straight to oatmeal. Rice cereal is like eating water to me . . . no taste what so ever so I didn't even try it with Abigail. She really seemed to enjoy it. Emily didn't really do anything when I fed her cereal for the first time. But Abigail had fun.
What cracked me up was Emily. I told her today that we were going to feed Abigail baby oatmeal for the first time. So she told me she wanted me to fix her "big girl" oatmeal when Abigail ate her "baby" oatmeal. So I fixed Emily some of Joe's oatmeal and then made up Abigail's. When Emily saw me put a bib on Abigail I had to get one for Emily too and it had to match Abigail's bib . . . what a hoot. All Emily did was take one lick of the oatmeal and that was it. But we had fun.
I have also started mixing up their names. I've done it several times over the past week. I knew it was probably going to happen to me since my mom called us all the wrong names growing up and me and my sister answered to both names from everyone we ever met our whole life . . . I guess because we were so close in age. Anyway, Emily has been correcting me when I call her Abigail and visa versa.
Here are pictures of Abigail's first meal at the dinner table . . . enjoy! We sure did.

Ready to swim
Emily started taking swimming lessons this week. She is in the beginner class in the kiddie pool so hopefully things will go better than our first attempt we had at swimming lessons a couple of years ago. They will eventually teach her to flip to her back and call for help and learn to float on her back for 30 seconds. There were only 4 in her class. They don't want the parents to be too close so I grabbed a few pics while Emily wasn't looking:

In our quest this week to get ready for a yard sale I found these dress up shoes for Emily. I forgot we had them. So of course she had to dress up immediately to try them out:
And here are some sweet sister pictures:

Fun weekend
This weekend we went to visit Joe's mom. We had an enjoyable time together:

Saturday afternoon we walked around several shops and Emily liked seeing all the animals in the pet store:
During the night Emily fell out of her bed . . . which is a first. I woke up at 3:30 to her crying so I went in there and got her back in bed. She was halfway asleep so I thought she would go right back to sleep . . . wishful thinking : ) She came into our room 15 minutes later to tell me her nose was stopped up. So she blew her nose and crawled back into bed. Then a little later she went to Joe and asked him to blow her nose. THEN a few minutes later she came to tell me that "big Elm@ was being silly". Oh my word. So I got in her bed with her just to get some sleep. How Abigail didn't wake up thru all this is a big ol' miracle because Abigail was sleeping in our room and Emily can be kinda loud opening and shutting doors. Crazy nut! She woke up at 6:45 and wanted to know if we could get up. I held her off for a precious 15 more minutes of sleep and then our day began.
. . . and today when we got home this cutie pie rolled over from her back to her front for the first time!!!!!
Here is the video of her rolling over:
I'm getting all weepy because Abigail is rolling over and I bought cereal last week to start feeding her . . . I don't want to start feeding her cereal because it's one more step closer to her not being a baby.
But then I see these pictures and it gets me excited for them to have each other as sisters. My prayer is that they have a special sweet relationship with each other. I love you girls!

Making a List
This morning I told Emily we needed to run a couple of errands. She told me she was going to make a list for us to remember what to get at the store. I was very impressed:

She also called me Jennifer several times today! I told her she needed to call me Mommy and she said, "No I want to call you Jennifer". I thought stuff like this didn't happen until they were teenagers : )

Busy Girl
We have spent the last several days hunting eggs and hunting eggs and hunting more eggs . . . the girl never stops! I think I have hidden eggs in the back yard, our living room, and all rooms upstairs about 40 times since Monday morning:

Emily has also been very creative during playtime. Yesterday we went in search of the "roaring birds" that were in the forest. This morning she reported that the birds weren't roaring anymore but that they were happy birds and they were eating their birdseed.
She also told me that "B is for bus and C is for cat" and that "Jesus lives in your heart".
She was spinning in circles yesterday and when she stopped she looked around and said, "Mom my house is falling down" What a hoot!
Here is Abigail hanging out in her seat watching Emily hunt for eggs in the living room:
Emily has also enjoyed playing with the Play D@h Paw Paw and Dee Dee got her:
Today we went to the library and checked out some books to read. When we got home she read one of her new books to Abigail:
. . . and then asked her Daddy to read it when he got home:
