Rocking Chair

Emily enjoys sitting in our rocking chair in our bedroom. This morning while I was getting ready she just talked and laughed while reading one of her books. The book she is looking at is a pop up book and she's torn most of the pop up pages out of the book but she still loves to look thru it! I had to get a few shots.

Some new things she's been doing this week are getting my shoes and trying to put them back on my feet, taking a napkin and wiping her face (including digging an old kleenex out of her trash can and wiping her nose . . .yuck!), finding teeny tiny little pieces of dirt on the ground and going to the trash can to throw it away, taking my small Bible and putting it on the floor and saying "Bi" for bible and patting it like they do in Bible class . . . it was so cool to me that she realized out of all the books that this one was in fact a bible. . . pretty cool! She's also been sticking her finger up her nose . . . but let's forget about that one : )

The other night at a restaurant she turned around in her chair to face everyone and started waving her little wave like she's a beauty queen in a parade . . . I love it! I've got to get her wave on video before she stops doing that.

Crazy Nut

I had to post some more pictures from last week when Emily stayed at my parent's house. Emily loved for my dad to put this arm chair cover on her head:

She also enjoyed wearing my mom's beads and chilling out on the couch. Since staying at my parent's house Emily walks up to our couches and chairs and sticks her leg halfway up in the air and leans over onto the couch and looks over at us and gives her "uh" sound to tell us she wants up . . . thanks mom and dad : )

Petting Farm

We went to a small animal petting farm today in Canton. It wasn't worth the money we spent but we did have fun watching Emily feed the animals. The only thing she didn't like was riding the big horse. They made her wear a helmet and I think that was part of the reason she didn't like it since it didn't fit her and kept falling off . . . which kinda defeats the purpose! Anyway, check out the pictures:

A chair her size

We are at PawPaw and DeeDee's house this week because I have a conference I have to go to for a few days. So Emily is going to hang out with my parents and get spoiled while I spend the first night away from my baby : ( I sure am going to miss her . . . but I only have to be away from her one night. Here she is sitting in a chair that's just her size. She's been having so much fun playing with all the new toys here!!!!

15 Months Old!

Emily is 15 months old today!!!

I tried to get several pictures of her but as you can see she doesn't stay still for very long and is really into her pacifiers, snack trap, and milk:

Here she is last year at 3 months old!!!

Bed head . . .

This is what Emily looked like today when she woke up from her nap. It looks like she placed her forehead on the bed and "wallered" back and forth.

It looks like she's pointing to her hair and saying, "look at this hairdo".

Park

We went to Sarah Anne's Birthday party yesterday at the park. Joe and Emily liked going down the slide. Sorry for the poor image . . . we took this picture with a cell phone. Emily still doesn't like swings very much so we'll try again later.
She tried a hot dog yesterday for the first time at the party as well. She didn't really like it very much which is funny to me because she LOVES the gerber meat sticks!!! Of course she didn't like her hot dog on her plate but kept wanting to eat some off of Joe's plate : ) She also ate some apple pieces too. Now that she has her upper and lower molars she can chew so much better . . . if we can only teach her not to cram everything in her mouth at one time.

Dresses

I'm so excited about the warmer weather because Emily can start wearing all the cute dresses she has!!!! Yes baby girls are used as dress up dolls : ) Last year I didn't get all that excited about her clothes because she was still too little and then started crawling so you couldn't put her in dresses . . . so that's why I'm so excited now. She looked so cute in this dress today. Here she is hamming it up for the camera:

I guess I better start teaching her how to sit like a lady : )

Trip to the zoo

Emily and I went to the Atlanta zoo today with some friends from church. We had a great time even though it was very crowded because of spring break. She did enjoy the petting zoo at the end. She got to pet a pig, a goat, and a sheep. I think she must be allergic to all the pollen in the air because her poor nose was like a water faucet today.

I love this poem

Have you watched the movie: In Her Shoes? If you haven't you need to. It's a great movie. At the end of the movie this poem is recited and I thought it was so pretty:

i carry your heart with me
i carry it in my heart

i am never without it
anywhere i go you go, my dear;
and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling

i fear no fate
for you are my fate, my sweet
i want no world
for beautiful you are my world, my true

and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
here is the root of the root
and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart
i carry it in my heart

Emily's new skills

This has been a big week for Emily. I've started seeing more and more signs of her understanding what I'm saying to her and it's so fun to experience! I've been pointing to her mouth, ears, eyes, etc like all parents do but this week when I asked her where her ears were she pointed to them!!! . . . then her eyes, her mouth, her teeth and even her toes which I don't even remember saying to her. How cool! I know all you parents out there with older kids are like . . .yeah Jennifer . . . all children can point to the parts of their body . . . but to see your own child do it for the first time is really neat. I think it's funny that the one part that she still hasn't pointed to is her nose, because when Emily was about 6 months old Joe informed me that an article in Parents Magazine said she should know where her nose is. I said, "Joe I think she is a little too young to know where her nose is. Plus we actually have to teach it to her before she's going to know where it is." So we've been pointing to her nose for A LONG TIME now and that's the one part she doesn't point to . . . . that's pretty funny to me.

Here are some other things she's started doing this week:
1. She went to the trash can to throw something away when I said, "let's go throw that away."
2. When I tell her it's time to feed Bud she starts walking towards the garage door so we can get his food.
3. She walks to the refrigerator and wants to open it when she wants her milk.
4. When I told her it was time for her snack she walked over to the drawer where I keep her bibs and pulled one out for me to put it on her.

She has also learned how to feed Bud Cheerios. I know this is going to be a problem but I loved getting her on video:

She also enjoyed dancing yesterday to some new songs that I downloaded:

Emily with a Bunny

I had to share this picture. I got Emily's one year pictures back today and this is one of them. They had a bunny left from all the Easter pictures so I had to get one too. The bunny did so well sitting next to her. This picture is so cute to me!!!!
