Thanksgiving Week

On the last day of school, Emily's class had a Thanksgiving party.  The kids sang some songs for us and read the ABC's of Thanksgiving to us.  Emily had the letter S:

We also had friendship soup and desserts:
On Sunday Joe met my mom halfway and the girls and I went to Montgomery for a few days so I could work and mom could help with the girls.  On Tuesday I went to the office to work.  It has been a really long time since I've gotten to see everyone so it was a really fun day:
On Wednesday night mom drove us to Auburn to see Joe's mom and Joe met us there that evening after work.  We had Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday with Grandma, and John, Peake, and Sidney.

Joe worked on Friday so the girls and I put up the Christmas tree:
This weekend we took it easy.  I finished the girls Christmas dresses and finished these that they wore on Sunday:
The school routine started again on Monday.  So Abigail is back to finding places to nap while I help Emily with her homework.  This time I caught her early enough to only let her sleep for about 10 minutes. . . otherwise she would have been up half the night tonight : )

School

Last week Emily had to decorate a turkey and write about it:

She  did a great job!  This was also the first week that she did all 9 homework squares so she got an extra treasure from the treasure box.  This Friday they are having their thanksgiving program so it will be fun to see them sing and read their story together.  Joe is eating lunch on Wednesday with her for the school Thanksgiving lunch.

Tonight at Abigail's school they had a family fun night.  So our friends joined us for pizza and a puppet show:

Thanksgiving

I cannot believe it is the holiday season already.  This past weekend we went to Montgomery to celebrate a little early with my family.  The kids enjoyed playing together and Joe, Nathan, Sam, and Sawyer enjoyed going to the Auburn football game.

Fun Run

Emily's school had a Boosterthon Fun Run this morning.  They have been getting pledges all week to raise money for their school.  Emily's teacher gave her students motivation and they were rewarded this week by reaching two of their goals.  On Tuesday, they could go to the whole day with no shoes in the classroom.  To Emily that was like hitting the jackpot!  She loved it.  Today they got to bring a stuffed animal to school to sit at their desks.

Here is Emily ready to go to school.  She picked out her gloves, ear warmers, and scarf yesterday to wear this morning.  So cute!
 About to begin:
 Running lap 1:
 Taking a water break:

The principal giving high fives as the students ran past him:
They could run up to 35 laps this morning at the Fun Run.  Emily ran 27 laps!  Way to go!
Thanks for all the pledges!  The school has raised close to $40,000 from this event!  I'm very impressed.  They hope to reach $40,000 thru the weekend in pledge money:

On a side note, I ordered these Hello Kitty/Auburn shirts for the girls and they wore them yesterday.  Love my Auburn girls!

Trick or Treat

The girls had a great time trick or treating Wed night.  This year we walked around with some kids that didn't run like crazy.  So we were actually able to walk together as a family and Abigail could keep up with them.  I will have to remember this for next year . . . . no running.

Emily wanted to be a Barbie princess so she picked out her dance costume from last year and her sparkly red shoes.  Abigail wanted to be "Punzel".  Here they are in all their cuteness:

This is my most favorite picture.  When we got home they couldn't wait for some kids to knock on the door so they could hand out candy.  So they walked straight in and sat right in front of the door and waited.  So thankful that some older kids were still out trick or treating or we would have had some very sad faces:

They picked out some candy to eat, gave out some candy at the door and then off to bed after their sugar crash : )  Happy Halloween!
