Tonight when it was time to go to bed, Emily asked if she could sleep with a toy cow that she had. It's really small so I asked her if she wanted to sleep with her stuffed Cliff0rd instead. She said yes. When we got to her room she asked if she could sleep with N@mo too. So I asked her (just for giggles) if she wanted to give up her Auburn paci to sleep with N@mo (she usually sleeps with 3 pacis but we are currently down to 2 because 1 of them split open a couple of weeks ago). She said she would throw away her green paci too . . . what! So I took them from her and put her in the bed with her two stuffed animals and no pacifiers . . . first time ever . . . we'll see how tonight goes. If this is the end of paci's for us then that was the easiest thing we've ever done . . . why can't potty training be this easy??????? The girl has still made no progress in that area . . . but I'll take what I can get for now : )

More fun at the zoo . . .
Well we've definitely gotten our money's worth at the zoo : ) We took Korrigan and his mom and baby brother to the zoo this morning. There was a light crowd there today and it was very pleasant this morning. By the time we left it was getting pretty hot so I'm glad we were heading home. Here are pictures from today:

Meeting a mouse . . .
This morning they had reading time at a bookstore near our house, so I took Emily by there. They read a story about a mouse and then a big mouse came out to meet everyone. Emily was the first child to run right up to him and say hi. All the other kids were too shy to get near him. That's my girl . . . the social butterfly : ) I had to take this picture with my camera phone so it's not too great:

Last night we ate Chinese food before grocery shopping. I ordered egg drop soup to share . . . I think I had about 5 bites and Emily ate the whole rest of the bowl by herself . . . she was a hoot!

Swimming with Friends
This morning we went swimming with Emily's boyfriend from school - Korrigan. Emily had a great time. She wore Korrigan's extra life jacket and jumped off the side of the pool a couple of times for me to catch her. She still doesn't dig going under water but she really enjoyed watching Korrigan swim all over the pool by himself. He even went off the diving board and swam all the way back to the shallow end while his mom was tending to his little brother . . . wow! We were impressed:

This picture cracks me up. She wouldn't go under water but she had to be just like Korrigan and wear some goggles. It was too funny:

When we got ready to leave Emily and Korrigan hugged each other and then Emily said, "I want to give him a kiss" and kissed him right on the lips! Crazy girl!
In other news, here is a new outfit I made for Emily. Back in April, I went to a sewing class with my sister and made this dress. The person who taught the class had modified the pattern and so we went mainly off of what she told us to do . . . so replicating this top took me a while because I tried to remember what we did. So after several weeks of taking this to my sewing classes for help . . . I finished it! I made the capri pants to go with them. When I put this on Emily yesterday she said she didn't want to wear it but wanted to wear a t-shirt and shorts : ( I'm not ready for her to be opinionated about her clothing yet!

Baseball Game
Last night we went to the Br&ves Game. We rode M@rta so Emily got to ride on a train and a bus last night : ) By the time we got to the game we were starving so eating dinner was first on the agenda. We split a hot dog and a hamburger and then started looking for our seats. These tickets were free so we didn't realize at the time exactly how good the seats were. We had to ride an elevator up and when we got off on our floor we were in an air conditioned area where all the suits are . . . we weren't in a suite (which I was glad about) but we got to sit under the overhang so it wasn't quite as hot. We were on the first row which worked out great because Emily could stand up and watch the game really well. We sat there for about 10 minutes and she turned to me and said, "do you want to go home now?" . . . uh no. Emily enjoyed clapping with everyone and watching when someone hit the ball. She also spent the last 30 minutes pouring my water into her cup and back . . . good times : )
We had an enjoyable evening and left at the bottom of the 6th inning . . .

Happy Anniversary!
Happy 14th Anniversary!!!
Today Joe and I are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary. We celebrated early this year by going on a date Saturday night. We ate sushi and saw Star Tr$k. I really enjoyed the movie. The last movie we went to in the theater was back during Thanksgiving : )
Our friend Tara kept Emily so she took this picture of us before we left:
Tonight we are taking Emily to a Br&ves Game! I'm excited! Joe got free tickets from a guy at work. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Movies and Face Painting
Today was a big day for Emily. We tried lots of new things. This morning we went to our first movie theater movie! A local theater plays free movies at 10:00 a.m. thru the summer. So we got there early to get a seat. We met the Eldridges there. Emily did really well and watched the whole movie. I thought of my grandmother a lot this morning because I remember her taking us to the movies when we were little. She would pass out lots of snacks in little dixie cups. She would even bring a 2 liter chex cola in her bag and pass out drinks as well . . . I didn't go that far, but in memory of her I did pass out snacks for Emily, Sarah Anne, and Amelia : ) Love you Granny!
During the movie Emily turned to me and said, "I need some more animal 'cwackwers' honey". And the other night at the store she kept saying, "Where's my Joe" because Joe had gone off to find something and she wanted to know where he was. So we are sometimes referred to as "Joe and Honey" Ha!
This afternoon we went to that favorite chicken place that all parents love because every Tuesday evening they have family night. Joe was working late so Emily and I went there for supper. Tonight's event was face painting and then each child got a free kid's meal. Emily picked out her design from a poster board, a lady bug, and the girl painted her face. Emily did a great job sitting still:

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Having Fun
Emily finally got to wear the outfit DeeDee had made her for Christmas. The top was a little big so I had to move some buttons over. She enjoyed wearing it today. Thanks DeeDee!:

I had my 2nd ultrasound today and all looks good. Emily was such a sweet girl at the doctor's office today! It was my first time taking her by myself during an ultrasound and she did great. When we got home Emily wanted to go swimming again:
Tomorrow Joe and I are going to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary a little early with dinner and a movie. We are looking forward to it! Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Swimming
Emily finally got in her pool today with water in it : ) She has played in the "turtle" with no water, but today I put water in there and then went to get her to see if she wanted to swim. She had a good time. The water was SO COLD that it took about 30 minutes before she finally sat down:

I even got down in the water with her. Goodness knows what a sight I was sitting in that pool : ) The next door neighbors were grilling out and it smelled so good, I wanted to ask them to throw a few burgers on the grill for us . . .
In other news, here is a wipes case I made last week. I wish I had one of these when Emily was born. It's so handy! You can fit a wipes case and several diapers in it. I've enjoyed using it this past week . . . since girlfriend has shown NO INTEREST in potty training:

Visiting Grandmama
This weekend we went to Auburn to visit Joe's mom. We had a nice visit!
We saw Joe's sister Leslie and Vann as they headed to the beach. Emily got upset because she wanted to go to the beach with them and during the afternoon she kept telling us that we were going to the beach to meet Uncle Vann and Aunt Leslie . . . we sure wish we were . . . :

We also got to have lunch with our friend Willisia and 2 of her boys and her sister Marion. It was great to get to see them:
This morning we visited the church we used to attend in Auburn and it was great seeing everyone! A good visit all around . . .

Happy Birthday Joe!
Today is Joe's Birthday! This afternoon Emily said that "daddy can wear a crown for his birthday"! She remembered that at school this year they all got to wear crowns for their birthday. So we made Daddy a crown to wear tonight . . . and of course Emily needed one too.

Emily enjoyed wearing her crown most of the afternoon:
The other day we went to the store and I let Emily pick out whatever card she wanted for Joe. She loves the cards that play songs so this is the one she picked out. It has a green monster on the front from Gh*stb*sters and all the way thru the store she kept saying, "the green monster is scared of me". Here Joe and Emily are enjoying the card:

More fun at the Zoo
Well guess where we went yesterday : ) Joe was working so my friend Tara and her daughter Taylor and friend Jadin went with Emily and me to the zoo! It was overcast yesterday morning so we enjoyed a pleasant visit.

Emily took a liking to Tara's hat so she wore it for some of the day. I told Tara it looked like I was pushing around an 80 year old lady with her gardening hat on:
Taylor and Jadin played "little moms" to Emily yesterday and showed her stuff, held her hand while we walked and pushed the stroller. I told them I needed them to come with me more often:

Play Time
Emily had been talking about Julia all week last week and wanted to know when she would see her again. Julia is the girl at Emily's school. So we met her and her mom and baby sister at a park yesterday and then went to lunch together. The girls had a nice time and I had a nice time visiting with another mom.
These pictures were taken at 11:30 in the morning and Emily was already beet red. This is the park where you can feed the ducks but once again . . . they weren't there yesterday. So we tried to feed the geese but they weren't interested. But Julia and Emily had fun throwing bread in their direction.

All spread out . . .
Our kitchen was a disaster area this weekend as Joe and I were working on different projects and this is the only room in the house to spread out . . .
We are still hoping against all hope that someone will buy our house so we can move . . . we've given it until July 31st. If nothing happens by then we are starting plan B which is "work with what ya got". Otherwise we might be moving in September and I don't have the personality type to handle doing that so close to Baby B's arrival.
Here are the burp cloths I finished last night for a baby shower I'm going to Sunday. I love burp cloths . . . they are so cute to me. I have fun making them:
. . . now I've got to get motivated to finish a top I started for Emily so she can start wearing it!
