Moving

Yesterday I posted my annual roommate trip and how my sweet sweet husband moved us while I was gone. Well when I got back from my trip Sunday morning, Joe and my dad were still going back and forth between the two houses getting misc stuff that got left behind from the big move on Saturday. I headed over to clean up the inside before we turned the keys over for good. Bye-bye old house. We enjoyed living here our first 6 years in Georgia . . . this was a good little house with lots of nice neighbors:
Right before we officially turned over the keys:

Now we live here a whopping 4 miles from our old house. It will take some getting used to living in a 2 story house . . . Emily of course LOVES going up and down the stairs so I send her up or down them to get stuff for me all the time : )

Here is the front room and dining room. We'll need to get a dining room table one day:
Here's our kitchen:
. . . and our family room:

Master bedroom with a walk in closet (yea!) and a bathroom with 2 sinks (yea again!): . . . what will be our office/sewing room is next door to our bedroom. As you can see it still needs some work:
Here is Emily's room. She started sleeping in her big girl bed this past Sunday night and has done well so far:
She likes having all her "babies" sleep with her:

Here is what will be the nursery and then one day the guest room (when Emily and Baby #2 share a room). We are planning on painting this room this weekend. So anyone that wants to paint just come on over : )
The previous owners left their play set and patio furniture so Emily has really enjoyed playing outside. I love that she can go outside in the fenced in back yard and I don't have to worry about her running out in the road:
We have also enjoyed a couple of picnics outside. Joe even joined us (he HATES to eat outside):

So there you have it! We've been here a week and a half and have really enjoyed it! We've met lots of neighbors including a family who sits in their garage at night and watches TV on a big screen TV hung from the wall. They have couches and lounge chairs and everything. That's a hoot! They told us the scoop on the neighborhood one night and invited us to their tailgate party on Saturday.

We are so thankful to get settled before Baby #2's arrival. She should be here soon! Now we just need to come up with a name for her . . . any ideas? Emily keeps calling her Abigail or Anna depending on what day it might be.

Updates from the Wilsons!

Well hello there! It sure has been a long time since I've even been to my own blog . . . but we've had a lot going on lately! We are now getting settled into our new house! Yea! Things are coming along great. I plan to post pictures of the house soon. But today I wanted to talk about my college roommate trip I went on a couple of weeks ago.

Each year my college roommates get together for a girls weekend. This year we were at Michelle's house in Columbia, TN. She lives out in the boonies in a beautiful home with her husband, 4 children, 1 dog, 2 cats, some goats, chickens, and cows! We enjoyed spending time together.

I drove thru Birmingham for my parents to pick Emily up at my sister's house. Here is a cute picture of Emily and Sawyer playing before bed time:
Angie, me, Danielle, and Michelle (and Abigail) hanging out:
Here is Michelle and Angie picking up fresh eggs:
On Friday we rode on the General Jackson riverboat in Nashville. It was the 4 of us and a bus load of senior citizens! What a hoot! We had a good time. We had lunch and a show. The guy that sang knew Danielle's cousin (Tammy Wynette) and had actually eaten dinner at Danielle's grandmother's house in Red Bay a few times . . . small world:View of Nashville from the riverboat:

And because there is always lots of food involved when we get together, I had to get a picture of our dinner on Friday night. It was a place where they stir fried your food for you and served it over pasta. Yummy!
On Saturday we went to the Parthenon in Nashville. It's a replica of what is left in Greece.

Inside is a gargantuen statue of Athena. She is HUGE!
We were also near the college where my parents attended (and met each other). I had never been before so this was cool to see:
Eating dinner at the Melting Pot . . . .yummy!

My husband is now considered a true saint in my book because while I was on my trip, Joe attended the closing for the sale and purchase of our house and was there on Saturday when the movers moved everything over to our new house. So this is what I came home to on Sunday morning. He was such a sweetie pie for letting me go on my trip anyway, even when we found out that the closing had been moved to when I was going to be gone. Thanks Joe! I love ya!I will post more pictures of our move hopefully tomorrow!

Family Visit and Baby Shower

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted to the blog. We've been so busy around here the last few weeks. We are in the process of moving to a new house in a couple of weeks and have spent our time looking at houses, getting appraisals, inspections, packing, etc. We are excited about getting moved before our baby arrives! We are only moving 4 miles from where we live now but will have a little more space and a great yard and swing set for Emily and Baby "B" to play!

Last Friday my family came to town for a baby shower some friends had for me. Friday night we went to the American G*rl store for my niece Sarah. We ate dinner at the bistro and Sarah and my sister had a lot of fun shopping:

On Saturday morning we went to a shower brunch and had a lovely time. I appreciate all the gifts we received and spending time with great friends:

The kids had a great time playing in Caroline's play room:Sarah was such a big help this weekend playing with Emily. After the shower, my family started the packing process and Sarah and Emily played great together the whole weekend:Mom made this dress for Baby "B":
Michelle made these outfits:
This week I've tried to do some packing and Emily has been right there to help me : )
She has also wanted to wear pigtails every day this week. And she takes great measure in making sure the ponytail holders match her outfit. This girl knows how to accessorize:Well off to do more packing . . . .

Sleeping Babies

Emily has been playing with her baby doll a lot this week. On Monday she said her baby needed to take a nap in the hallway and put her there, covered her up, and gave her an animal to sleep with:
Well she's been there since Monday and Emily keeps walking by her and telling me that we need to be quiet because her baby is still sleeping . . . I hope baby doll is o.k. . . . I mean she sure has been sleeping a long time : )

Then tonight she decided that several of her animals needed to take naps in the hallway:
I hate to break it to her in the morning that the AC guy will be coming by and her animals are going to have to nap elsewhere since he'll be in the hallway . . .

She has also enjoyed wearing my flip flops around the house this week:
It has been a very stressful week for us for various reasons this week so pictures like this make me smile . . .

Sunglasses

Today Emily decided to wear her sunglasses . . . and she wanted to wear them while she ate her yogurt.
She wanted yogurt out of the new pack that I just bought, but there was one left over from the old pack so I told her we needed to finish that one first. "OK" . . . but when that yogurt was finished she told me she was ready for the new pack (different flavor and had a different character on the label). So crying ensued when I told her she couldn't eat it right then but would have to wait. Then it was time for a nap and she wanted to sleep with her sunglasses. I told her that would hurt her ears but that we could leave them on the dresser and she could get them when she woke up . . . "OK".

Well guess what she asked for right when I walked in her room this afternoon after her nap:

Crazy nut! After I handed her the sunglasses she said she was ready for her other yogurt : ) This girl doesn't forget anything! So she ate her 2nd yogurt of the day while wearing her sunglasses.

Friends are having a baby shower for me on Saturday and Emily is going with us. I haven't spoken about the baby shower in about 2 weeks . . . but today I told Emily, "Paw Paw and Dee Dee are coming this weekend" . . . and she said, "we are going to the baby shower together!" . . . wow . . . how did she remember that????

Stuff like this cracks me up! She did nap today. I've decided this week to wait about an hour later than I normally do for naptime to see how that goes . . . today it worked . . . we'll see what the rest of the week brings.
