Camping

This past weekend we went camping with my family at a park near the Georgia/Alabama state line:

My parents have an RV and Nathan and Michelle have a pop up camper:

We aren't camping people so we stayed in this cabin:
There were several areas for the kids to play so they had a great time! The weather was beautiful . . .
Emily played putt-putt for the first time:
Joe and I discovered we could still ride bikes : )
They had a pig that the kids fed all weekend:
There were several rabbits that roamed the park and would come right up to you and hang out just in case you had some food to share. The kids enjoyed feeding them as well:
Sarah even managed to get one close enough to pick up and hold for a while:
Saturday night the camp managers showed all their reptiles to the kids and Y@gi Bear came to visit. Robert and I took the kids to check them out while everyone else finished watching the AU/GA game:
We had our Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday night:
we ate wherever we found a spot . . .
Eating breakfast and lunch was a lot easier:

Enjoying hanging out:

Saturday night after dinner we enjoyed making smores and sitting by the fire:
My sister also prepared a campfire treat that she made for Mandy's birthday:
We did good hanging out with all these camping folks!

Play

Emily amazes me sometimes. She LOVES to just be by herself sometimes and play. Lately she has been taking all her babies and singing to them one at a time and then putting them down for a nap. She goes all over the house in search of anything that will work as "covers". She uses dish cloths, lap pads, burp cloths, blankets . . . and my favorite, her oven mit for her kitchen (if you look closely the 3rd animal to the left has her oven mit):
The other day I came downstairs and she had taken all her princess dolls and covered them with some piano sheets she found in the piano chair:
I LOVE her imagination! She is so fun to watch. Speaking of princess dolls, her collection of dolls has come from gifts, but also from her earning stars for various things. Right now she is earning stars for staying in her bed until morning time. This girl was making us weary with her random times that she was coming to our room to crawl into our bed. . . sometimes it was 3:30 sometimes 4:00. Mostly she would make it to 5:30 to come to our bed. So I put a clock in her room and taught her to only look at the hour number. She isn't allowed to come to our room in the morning until it has a 6 or 7 on it. She has been doing much better. The other morning I heard her come to our room at 5:30 . . . but she looked at my clock and then went and got back in bed without saying anything so I was proud of her! Sometimes having a child that's not in a baby bed is worse than having a newborn waking you up to eat! This mama needs her sleep!

Fall Festival

Today we went to our first fall festival! We visited Emily's future school.

It was from 11 - 3 and we got there when it opened and stayed until they were calling out the last 10 minute warning for the rides. We met our friends Shannon, Kyle, and Sydnee:
They had more jump houses and slides here so Emily had a blast:

They had a cute little petting zoo. Abigail loved this part. She kept pointing at all the animals and jabbering away about them and then laughing and getting all excited:
Kyle and Emily discovered the game section where they give out candy. They played each game and at the end they started handing out handfuls each time to get rid of it all:
Emily even tried cotton candy for the first time:
Abigail took such a liking to Emily's balloon animal that I had to go back and get Emily a different one . . . Abigail wasn't letting go:
It was really cold outside but what a fun afternoon!

Being a Monkey

Today we met our friends Ashley, Korrigan, and Pierce at "that Monkey place" to play. We were supposed to meet at a park but it was wet and dreary outside. We've always gone here during birthday parties so I didn't realize today how pricey this place is . . . they sure do like their "jumpy toys" here. But Emily had fun . . . I'm just partial to the free parks we've enjoyed during the warmer months:

Abigail heard the word monkeys and decided to carry her banana with her all afternoon:
This is where Emily spent most of her afternoon:
We had fun guys! See ya soon!
