Christmas Fun with Friends

Yesterday we went to Christmas on Pe@chtree in Midtown with several friends from Emily's class.  Five moms took 8 kids on M@rta and to all the Christmas festivities.  It's located in the old Macy's building on Peachtree and they had several activities for the children to do.  On most of the activities our group were the only ones participating so it was a very fun and relaxed day.  One of the mom's decided to buy some pics of us with Santa so here is our crew:

Christmas Program

The girls had their Christmas program this morning and did a great job!  Abigail's class was first so I hid behind the people in front of me so Abigail wouldn't see me : )  Getting ready for little ones is like herding cats . . .
 Singing Jingle Bells:
Emily's class acted out the Nativity Scene.  Emily was one of the angels that told the shepherds about Jesus:

Abigail was done with picture taking and ready to go home . . .

Christmas Parade

This morning we made Christmas cookies.  Emily enjoyed helping me make the cookie dough and both girls enjoyed using the cookie cutters to make their cookies.  We made 34 cookies this morning:
During the decorating time, Emily and I decorated while Abigail played . . . every now and again she would walk by and want a bite of her cookie:

I was impressed at how well Emily did with decorating.  The first couple were kinda messy but the more she did the better she got at it.  Here is one she did where I was really impressed with how well she did the icing:

Here are the cookies she hand picked to take to her class on Monday:
When Joe got home from work we went to the local Christmas parade.   We got all settled and ready to watch the parade and realized we didn't have any cash to buy "drinks and snacks" after the parade was over.  So Joe had to jog all the way down Main Street to get to the only bank and get us cash.  Thanks Joe!!!
It took a while to get started but once they did Emily really enjoyed watching:

After the parade we got some cotton candy and popcorn.  The girls went crazy over the cotton candy:
 We enjoyed the evening!!!!

Putting up our tree . . .

When we got home from Thanksgiving, it was time to put up our Christmas tree!
Abigail enjoyed decorating the tree this year.  I remember her 1st Christmas she spent the evening screaming in my ear while I carried her around in my baby sling and decorated with Joe and Emily . . . you have come a long way little girl:

These are their 1st Christmas ornaments with their baby picture in it.  They were both excited to see themselves on an ornament:
Joe liked having the task of passing out ornaments because he could just sit there and not worry about hanging up ornaments : )

 So pretty . . .
As a side note we found these Auburn clothes at a store on Friday that was selling all their clothing Buy 1 Get 1 Free . . . so I was finally able to buy the girls matching Auburn dresses (they are usually too stinkin' expensive) and Joe got a nice shirt that we matched with a Christmas present for my brother in law:
As you can see, Abigail's new smile always leaves her eyes closed for pictures : )
And because it's finally cold enough to wear warm pajamas the girls have enjoyed wearing their Christmas PJ's this week:
