Fall Festival

Today we went to Emily's school Fall Festival.  They had jump houses, pony rides, games to play, petting farm and lots more!

 Joe enjoyed a free massage : )

Emily was nervous about riding by herself . . .

Abigail stopped playing games once her prize was a sucker:

Hair paint!  Emily chose orange and blue:

Joe decided to get in on the hair paint fun:

Abigail was so proud of picking up this chicken.  She held it for a while and the chicken just hung out and never tried to wiggle free:

Then we headed to the park for Julia's birthday party:

Abigail crashed in my lap at 5:00 today so after her nap and a bath she was ready to play!
The girls asked to share a room tonight . . .
 A very fun Saturday!

Reuniting with Friends

Last Friday we met up with Emily's Pre-K friends at a pumpkin patch.  It was great to have all the kids together again and visit with the moms.  They had a jump house and we took a hay ride and picked out pumpkins.  They also had some farm animals to see.  It was a beautiful afternoon together.
Since there weren't many people there they let us take as much time as we wanted at the jump house so the kids played in there for about an hour.

Rachel brought her face paints so everyone got their face painted:
Abigail climbed up on the table to watch Rachel paint:
She was super proud of her butterfly:
They also had these toy bulls for the kids to ride:
About to go on our hay ride:

This is the pumpkin Abigail picked out to take home.  She carried it around and kept talking about how cute it was.  I just kept thinking about the pants she was wearing that day.  These are the pants Emily wore to the hospital on the day Abigail was born . . . and now Abigail is old enough to wear them.  So hard to believe:

Goings on . . .

We've been busy with fall activities!  I love this time of year!  Last week I surprised Emily by meeting her for lunch at school:
After school the girls got haircuts and we went for ice cream.  Tuesday is Joe's late night so I have discovered that we all do better on Tuesday if we get out of the house for a bit and go to a park or get ice cream or an errand, etc.  Otherwise we all get a little stir crazy before Dad gets home : )
On Saturday afternoon Abigail decided to give it up and take a nap at 4:00!  So I let her sleep for a little bit but then woke her up so she wouldn't be up all night.  She was out so it took a while to get her to wake up:
On Sunday morning the girls played with fabric until it was time to get ready for church.  They really do play well together.  All of this fabric makes for a lovely mess in the computer/sewing room, but I love how much fun they have with it:

I am also super excited about this purchase!  I ordered it last week while it was on sale with a 30% off coupon and a $25 rebate.  I'm so excited to be the proud owner of one.  I made my first cup of tea in it tonight:
In sewing news I made a dress for Abigail to match Emily's and they wore them on Sunday:
On Sunday afternoon, I took a purse construction class and made this purse.  I am very proud with the results.  I love taking sewing classes.  If I could afford it I would take one a month!

A few weeks ago I made these bags for a friend at church.  They are bags for her daughters:
