Fun with Friends

Last week the girls played with their friends Julia and Liliana:

 

DeeDee also sent some new dresses for the girls:

And lately they have had lots of fun playing with baby dolls.  Abigail has been playing with Emily's doll that she got pre-American Girl and has had fun dressing her up:

We were also excited that on Aug 22 Emily lost the other front tooth so she is at one of my favorite stages!!!  The tooth literally fell out of her head while she slept.  She woke us up at 5:30 to tell us that her tooth was out.  She apparently had drooled during the night so her sheets were pretty gross.  So glad we didn't have to wait long for the other tooth to fall out!

This week the girls started dance and gymnastics at the Rec Center.  Abigail had her first dance class and loved it:

 Emily also had grandparents day at school so I went to represent PawPaw, DeeDee, and Grandma since they couldn't come:

Emily sat next to her new friend and they were two of the silliest girls in the world during lunch . . . Have Mercy!!

We ended the week on Friday swimming with friends and had a great time!

Back to School Dance

On Friday, Emily's school had a Back to School Dance.  Everyone came dressed as their favorite Disney Character.  It basically meant they played loud music, the kids ran around, and the parents all stood around the edges of the cafeteria and yelled at each other over the loud music : )  Abigail was excited to go until we actually got in the room and it was too overwhelming for her.  So Joe happily walked around with her outside since he didn't like being in the crowds either.

What's up?

Emily has finished two weeks of school and Abigail has completed one week of school!  We are getting back into the swing of things.  Abigail went to school her first day on the 12th and then stayed home sick for two days.  I think part of it was exhaustion because she slept a lot.  By Thursday she was back to her normal self and ready to get back to school.

The girls have enjoyed playing in the afternoons.  I love that they still like to play dress up:

On Friday we did a little shopping because Emily needed some shoes.  We also got them a couple of outfits for the fall.  Abigail picked out these zebra pants and pink shoes.  Emily picked out a zebra skirt.  Abigail wore her new digs on Saturday:

DeeDee also sent the girls some dresses.  They wore them on Sunday but Emily changed clothes before I could get a picture of both of them:

They also made tye dye tshirts on Saturday at the gym.  They are so big on them that Emily decided to use hers as a gown.  Abigail said she wanted to wait until she was bigger before she wore hers.  I think she is going to be waiting a LONG time:

And the best news of all . . . . . Emily's front tooth fell out Monday night while she was talking!!!!  We have been trying for a few days to get her to pull both teeth but she won't do it.  It literally had to fall out of her mouth.  I honestly don't know how the other one is still hanging on:

Emily has officially joined the snaggle tooth club!!!

Family Visit

This weekend my sister's family came for a visit.  Nathan had a class this weekend right down the road from our house.  We all went to a Braves Game Friday night:

Joe and Emily walked around the stadium a little and Emily chose these visors for her and her sister:

 

We also found out from someone at church that they saw all of us on TV that night!  We are famous!

 We spent Saturday at the pool and Sunday we went to church and then the mall.  I let Emily pick out her own dress.  It wasn't something I would normally pick out but I'm trying to let her have more freedom in what she picks out.  I have to admit, she does look super cute!

First Grade

Emily's first day of First Grade was today!  She had a great first day of school and has decided that she does in fact like her new teacher.  She told me the other day that she knew she wouldn't like her as much as Mrs. Reynolds from last year.  But her teacher got the ok today after Emily's first day : )

 We dropped her off this morning and this afternoon she rode the bus home:

 

LegoLand

On Friday we ended our week of vacation at Legoland in Atlanta.  It's inside a mall so we ate lunch before heading in.  The girls had a lot of fun:

 They had a room of different buildings in Atlanta all made from Legos.  Pretty cool!

 

Then it opened into a big room with several areas to play in:

 There was a ride that Emily and Joe rode.  Abigail decided she didn't want to go:

 The girls spent most of their time in the Friends section putting together Legos at the tables:

 

 There were also 4 short 4D movies.  We saw three out of the 4:

 They had a small play area for Abigail's age:

 There was also a bigger play area that Emily enjoyed because it was several levels high. Abigail stayed on the bottom level:

 We ended our time at a chocolate shop in the mall.  The girls settled on a chocolate covered pretzel with sprinkles:

We then found a local Mexican restaurant close by that served wonderful tacos!!!  Yummy!

We had a great week together this week!!  We spent Saturday doing chores and grocery shopping to get ready for our first week back at school and work.

Meet N Greet

Today Emily went to her Meet and Greet to meet her First Grade teacher.  She will have Mrs. Jackson this year.  Here she is at her desk:

 We also went to see Mrs. Reynolds and our friend Hayden will be in there this year.  We are super excited for her.  Emily and I also volunteered and helped at the Spirit Wear table during an earlier Meet and Greet.

Then we met Harper and Hayden at the pool.  It started raining but that didn't keep the girls from swimming:
