Lots to Blog

I have several pictures to share of our activities over the last several days. First off, on Friday morning I was putting on my makeup, and just like any other day, Emily was going thru my makeup bag to open up everything and look at it (and try to put a little blush and eye shadow on her cheeks). This time she tried to put on my eyeliner:
This weekend my brother Robert came for a visit. Here is a picture of Emily and Uncle Robert:

Saturday night we ordered Chinese food and Emily decided to help herself to the rest of the rice:

We also got Bud a new warm pallet to snuggle in. Before he got a chance to try it out Emily gave it a try:
On Sunday afternoon, Emily and I drove to Auburn to attend my department's Christmas party on Monday. We stayed with Bonnie on Sunday night. They have more dogs in their house than people . . . and Emily loved it! Bonnie dressed the two smaller dogs in their Christmas outfits:
Here's Emily running in the front yard with Cocoa:And here's their gargantuan bulldog, Dre. We didn't let Emily near him in fear that he would sit on her : ). During the party on Monday Dre did jump up on one of the chairs to join us at the dining room table . . . that was pretty funny!

Here are the fabola people I work with (Ray was sick so he's not in the picture): Chris, Mike, Felicia, Pam, me, Bonnie. Thanks for a great party today!!!

Dinner

Last night LeAnn and I went to the Dinner A'f@re. You prepare 12 meals to take home and freeze. We split the meals and the price. This is the second time we've done this and we had a really good time. Now I don't have to think about what meals to prepare next week . . . yea!

Here we are at one of the food stations with our groovy hats and aprons:

And here are some of my meals in my new freezer!!!

Reindeer

Emily's class made reindeer hats the other day and Emily wore the hat for the rest of the day. She also asked me to sing the "reindeer song" over and over. I wasn't sure what song they sang at school so I sang "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" and that seemed to work for her.

Here she is playing with her makeup purse and reading thru the mail wearing her hat:

Yesterday we were watching Elm0's world and there was a scene where a bulldozer was about to dump dirt on Elm0's head. Emily stood up on the couch and got all anxious and even started to cry a little because she was afraid he was hurt. He shook off the dirt and started laughing and she smiled and calmed down . . . too funny!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Here are a few pictures from our visit with Family during Thanksgiving:
We put our tree up Sunday night. We bought an Elm0 ornament for Emily and I gave it to her yesterday morning to put on the tree. She didn't want to put him on the tree though so she has been carrying him around the house. Yesterday at lunch she fed him some cheese and apples. This morning before school she had to kiss Elm0 goodbye. What a hoot!!!

Here she is thinking about putting him on the tree . . . but then she said "No" and walked away with him:

Cold Weather

Last night Emily and I played in the leaves. It was so cold that I got out her big thick coat and gloves. She was so cute I had to take a picture! I remember Sarah wearing this coat when she was little and thought how cute she was . . . thanks again Michelle for another hand me down . . . cause we love them : )
Here are the pants that I made in my sewing class. Yea!

22 Months Old

Emily is 22 Months Old Today!!!

Emily enjoys playing with her puzzles, reading books, going thru the letters and matching them to the alphabet cards that we have, watching Elmo's world, "walk away" for walking around, playing outside, etc. She knows several colors and can identify most of the letters of the alphabet. She uses adjectives in her sentences now like "Emily's blue plate" or "Mommy's green shirt".

Here she was last year at 10 months old:

Last night Tara and Taylor came over for dinner. Emily has tried some of our corn on the cob before at restaurants but last night was the first time I ever put the holders on each end and gave her a whole piece. That girl went to town on her corn. She kept calling it "poppy corn". She ate all of hers and then asked me for mine : ) Here are Emily and Taylor enjoying their corn:
Tara kept Emily for me while I went to my sewing class. I've learned how to hem, put in a zipper, make a button hole, and last night I made Emily a pair of pants! I think I'm going to give this a go and try to make Emily some clothes. I will get a picture of Emily wearing them once I've put the elastic in and hemmed them.
