After my last post I had an ankle injury. Last Wednesday I got ready to go to my exercise class and hopped in the van to quickly get the girls down in the cul de sac. Of course as always I was in a hurry. I asked the girls to jump in and got out to buckle Abigail. I stepped off the curb and twisted my ankle so bad that sight and sound started closing in on me and I had to will myself not to pass out. Instead of stepping off the curb I actually stepped down by a sewer drain so it was at an incline. Luckily my neighbor was outside and came over to see if I was ok. He had to drive my van home and help me hobble in to the sofa. He even set me up with an ice pack and trash can because I felt nauseous. I called Joe and told him he needed to head home. My sweet friend Rachel came to the rescue by coming by to get the girls, get their PJs packed in case we were going to be late getting xrays. I thought for sure my ankle was broken. Joe wheeled me into an urgent care and the xrays didn't show a break! Hallelujah! Only a bad sprain. But the doctor hooked me up with pain medicine and steroids to get the swelling down. So for that reason alone I was glad we went to the doctor that night. Here's a picture of my ankle while we were waiting on xrays:

He asked me to stay off of it for several days and gave me an ankle brace to wear once I could put weight on it. We got home in enough time to pick the girls up from Rachel's before they fell asleep. They were so disappointed that they couldn't have a slumber party with their friends! Joe took off work on Thursday to let me keep my foot elevated. That was a blessing because I think it really helped in the healing process. We borrowed crutches from someone at church so on Friday I could get around without putting weight on my foot.
Then on Friday night poor Emily woke us up with a stomach bug so I was so thankful that I could put weight on my foot by Saturday morning to help her. She didn't move from the couch until Monday morning when I finally got her to eat a little bit of food. She lost some weight in those couple of days and looked so little when she went back to school on Tuesday.
She was excited to get back on Tuesday because her class had decorated Mardi Gras floats and got to have a parade in the hallways at school. I was impressed with Emily's float:
That evening the girls lined up their animals so Emily could have a parade and pass out beads and treats to us and all the animals:
On the 14th the girls had fun at their Valentine Parties and came home with lots of cards and treats:
The girls have also had lots of fun setting up their animals for tea parties, watch TV with, and to read stories to:
I also went to my semi annual consignment sale that I participate in and found a bike for Emily and a tricycle for Abigail. It was beautiful weather Friday afternoon to try out their new wheels. I was able to get both for $27. Not bad:
On Friday night we went to the mall because Emily wanted to use the rest of her birthday money to get her AG doll a lunch box. After her purchase they all ate dinner in the food court. Her doll ate her dinner out of her new lunch box:
Abigail also got up the courage to ride the carousel for the first time!!!!!! (Sorry the picture is so blurry. My phone battery was about to die)
We also stopped at the Lego store to get Abigail her first Lego set. We stayed in this store for over an hour picking out things to get. Here is Abigail's proud princess purchase:
When the girls got home they wanted to play with their new Legos right away:
When it was time for bed they put "covers" on their new Lego girls:
We had an eventful couple of weeks! Joe and I looked funny hobbling around the mall with the girls because my ankle was still sore and Joe's back is still bothering him. We are too old before our time!
