New Bears
Yesterday we took the girls for a special treat. I've always wanted to take them to the Build a Be@r place but didn't want to go on the weekend. Joe had off work yesterday and I found a coupon on the internet so off we went! Emily enjoyed it more than Abigail (which we figured) but it was still fun to watch both of them pick out their bears:

You had to pick out a heart for your bear:
Then you placed the heart inside the bear and then it was stuffed:
Then you took your bear to the cleaning station to wash them:
And then you filled out the information for their birth certificate. Emily filled hers out herself. She named her bear Anna. I asked Abigail what she wanted to name her bear and all I could get out of her was letters from the alphabet. So we named her "Bea" since the letter B seemed to be her letter of choice yesterday:

Emily wanted to pick out some clothes for her bear so Abigail and I went to look at some shoes while Joe and Emily picked out an outfit for Anna. Here are the girls before bed last night:

Trick or Treat
The girls had a blast trick or treating last night. Here we are about to head out:
Meeting up with friends . . .

Once they all got started it was hard for Abigail to keep up:
She gave it a great effort but then Joe and I decided to split up and one of us keep up with Emily while the other helped Abigail go at her own pace:
Every now and again we would pick her up and jog to catch up with the rest of the clan. By the end of the evening Joe and I had our workout.
The girls picked out some candy at home and Emily enjoyed passing out candy to the kids that came by our house:
A successful evening! This morning Emily asked me if she could have a piece of candy before breakfast : )

Carving a pumpkin
Tonight Joe carved a pumpkin for the girls.

Joe and Emily decided on what type of face he would have and the carving began:

Now we are officially ready for tomorrow night!
A great job!

Fall Festival
This afternoon we went to a local church's fall festival. Three years ago we took Emily to this same festival wearing the same ladybug outfit that Abigail wore:

Emily sat in the musical chairs and stuck to it until they called her number. She won a cupcake:
When she went to claim her prize, Abigail followed behind her and stood there looking at the ladies like, "hey, where's my cupcake." They apparently thought she was cute enough to get a small one. Abigail deemed it good:
After they were all sugared up we went home and chilled out for the rest of the evening.
I finally caved and let her eat a sucker. She was a sticky mess when she was done but this kept her planted in one place while Emily got her face painted:

Sewing
I've been working on some ruffled pants for the girls with a new pants pattern. It's a little too wide for my taste so the next pair I make I will trim them down some. I also don't know what I did wrong measuring Abigail's pants, but they are a little short . . . I still think she is a cutie:

So I put the square over her monogram and re-used the shirt to wear with the same pants:
I also gushed a little when Abigail wore the very first pair of pants I made Emily. I took a sewing class to make these pants and my sister embroidered the car on the shirt for me:
Here is Emily wearing the pants . . .
When Michelle showed me how cute an outfit could be by adding embroidery to a shirt, I decided to buy a sewing machine with an embroidery attachment. It's so fun to see Abigail wearing the first sets of clothes that I made 2 years ago!
The girls had their fall party at school today so Abigail dressed in her Auburn outfit and Emily chose to be a fairy:
And for giggles I must share these photos! Last night at church, Joe was helping me in the resource room with the copy machine and we found a box of glasses that they use to donate to our missionaries. Joe put these on and I was laughing hysterically. I have not laughed that hard in a long time!
So we took the pair home to show the girls and PROMISE to return them to the box on Sunday . . . I took this picture of Emily today:
Then Emily took these pictures of me and Abigail:

I embroidered the cherries on their shirts. I have been looking for these type shirts for a very long time and finally got a website from a friend to order them from:
I also re-used a 2T shirt that was Emily's and embroidered this A over it.
One of the first pair of pants I made Emily was a floral cordoroy that she wore with this shirt:

Horses and Kitties
This weekend we went to Birmingham for my brother's wedding reception. On Friday we went to see Sarah's new horse:
Her name is Sadie and she has such a pretty coloring. Her coat is a pretty mixture of brown, black, and red. She is very gentle too.

When the kitty needed a break from Abigail she hid under the coffee table, so Abigail planted herself next to the table waiting for kitty to come out . . .
I didn't have to worry about Abigail going somewhere she wasn't supposed to because she pretty much camped out here the whole time. I think kitty was glad when we left on Saturday : )
Emily got a chance to ride . . .
And then Abigail got a turn too . . .
And sweet Sadie let me get a turn as well. They have a child's saddle on her so I felt like my legs were really high up. I was too scared to hold the reins so Michelle and I got a kick out of her leading the horse around for me : )
They also have a new kitten and Abigail LOVED this kitten. She followed her around all weekend and once she figured out how to pick her up it was all over . . .
